On Wednesday, August 6th, our Community Table served 175 guests in our dining room—setting a new record for the number of lunches served in a single day. Our small – but mighty! – space buzzed with energy as our team rose to the challenge, ensuring every guest received the care, service, and dignity they deserve.
Behind this remarkable achievement were twenty-six volunteers working tirelessly in a variety of roles: dishwashers, bussers, food drivers, chefs, servers, sorters, and more. We are incredibly proud of the effort and heart shown by each member of our team—it truly was a day to remember.
Please join us in recognizing and sharing our gratitude with this amazing crew:
Gemma T., Caroline A., Jan D., Karol L., Melanie C., Stuart M., Rachel F., Jake J., Laurie A., Don A., Michael F., Vanessa R., Patsy B., Karen B., Joyce S., Stephanie S., Linda C., Vic P., Betty W., Edee T., Ron H., Margaret H., Amelia F., Megan I., Joe S., and John K.
This record-breaking moment is, of course, bittersweet. While we celebrate our ability to serve so many, increasing numbers point to a deeper issue: food insecurity in our community is on the rise. More neighbors are turning to us for help, and we must adapt to continue meeting their needs.
That’s why we’re asking for your help. Please consider contributing to our Full Plate fundraiser, so we can keep feeding our neighbors—body and mind. Together, we can serve more. Hope more. And create a future where every family’s plate is full.
