Exploring New Possibilities Through Hands-On Learning

This summer, Pathway student Andrew participated in The Rosendin Foundation Camp Build, where he explored the world of skilled trades through hands-on learning and real-world experiences.

Designed for middle school students in grades 6–8, the Camp Build introduces participants to careers in the construction industry and teaches practical building skills in a fun, engaging environment. Throughout the program, students had the chance to work with a variety of professional tools, learn from industry experts, and put their learning into practice through hands-on activities.

For Andrew, the experience was one he won’t soon forget.

“My favorite part about the construction camp was learning about the different tools they had there and that we were able to use all of them, and also test-ride the big machines. It was fun and rewarding at the celebration ceremony.”

At the conclusion of the camp, Andrew received his own set of tools to take home, allowing him to continue practicing what he learned and explore future projects on his own. It’s a meaningful reminder that experiences like these inspire confidence and allow students to continue learning long after the camp has ended.

We are so proud of Andrew for embracing this opportunity and grateful to our friends at Rosendin for investing in the next generation by providing students with hands-on experiences that open doors to future careers. Congratulations, Andrew!
